Project North Park

Significant and exciting progress has been made to our building over the summer!

The new parking pad is getting final touches, opening up our garage for renovations. In July, concrete slab was poured and a temporary fence installed at the back of the play lot by the alley. We will keep this area accessible to students for four square and other games through the middle of the school year.

The family bricks from our Wired For Fun initiative settled into their new home, along the north fence of the play lot.

Window openings were cut into the current garage wall, in preparation for future classrooms.

Window frames were installed along the north and west side of the building, and glass installation started late this past week. Facade tuckpointing was also completed, setting the canvas for our new look.

Our owners’ representative, Eric Eichler, and designer, Lynsey Sorrell of Bureau Gemell – a mission-based architecture and design firm, have been a pleasure to work with and the entire NPES community will have an opportunity to meet them and hear about their work at the fall association meeting on Thursday, September 26th.

Finally, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Project North Park’s leadoff donors. The generosity of these families, as well as several anonymous donors, has allowed us to reach almost 50% of our $2 million fundraising goal.
