Giving at NPES

Charitable giving is an essential and relied-upon aspect of family involvement at North Park Elementary School. Why?

Like all independent schools, NPES depends on the generosity of our community to offer the full NPES experience to all students, and to make important improvements to our program possible. As the National Association of Independent Schools puts it, “Your gift supports the people and programs that make your school special to you.”

The NPES Fund is our annual giving fund, which gives direct support to our programs and enriches the student experience above and beyond what tuition can support – tuition largely funds our operations, whereas annual giving enhances our offerings. While every family is expected to contribute a minimum of $1900 per student to the NPES Fund, gifts above that minimum are necessary for us to achieve our goals for the school.

Subject to your individual tax situation, most gifts to the NPES Fund are tax-deductible, and support the following:

  • Faculty/staff professional development and benefits like graduate school tuition reimbursement and national educational conferences related to the school’s strategic initiatives
  • Critical curricular enhancements like integrating technology, design thinking, and inquiry into the curriculum; diversity, equity, and inclusion work to grow cultural competency skills; and social emotional learning for well-being, healthy identity development, and sound personal decision-making
  • An overall balanced budget, as we continue to be thoughtful and responsible stewards of the school’s resources and invest wisely in the education of every child
