Liz Burgess has 20 years of nonprofit management experience. Liz's career includes being the executive director of three amazing nonprofits whose missions she continues to believe in and support - the Lincoln Park Community Shelter, the Judd Goldman Adaptive Sailing Foundation and most recently, SitStayRead. By working in small nonprofits, Liz has gained diverse, well-rounded, hands-on experience especially in fundraising, event planning, strategic and program planning, budgeting, and board relations and development. At the Shelter, she planned and implemented a successful capital campaign which resulted in a renovated interim housing facility that aligned with the City's plan to end homelessness.  Liz and her husband, Angus, have a daughter, Matilda, who is currently in fourth grade.



Eric and his wife, Kelly, have been a part of the NPES community for 5 years.  Their two daughters are enrolled at the school - Samantha in 5th grade and Sarah in kindergarten.  Eric has worked in real estate development in Chicago for the past twenty years. He currently serves as the Executive Vice President of M. Fishman & Company, a real estate development and property management firm.  Over his career he has overseen the acquisition, financing, construction/renovation and management of dozens of properties in Chicago.  He hopes to bring his experience of property and facilities management to the board to help us maintain our current facility and his development and construction experience to help us achieve Vision 2025.




Bob Hoellen is a licensed attorney at the law firm Hoellen and Hoellen and has served on the NPES Board as an Associate Director for several years. He now serves as an Honorary Board Member.

Ian Jipp is the Assistant Dean for Development at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University.  He has over 20 years of experience in development and fundraising, working with a wide range of non-profit institutions, including independent schools. The Board feels very lucky that Ian has agreed to share his considerable expertise with NPES.




Matthew Lombardo

Matthew and his wife, Danielle, have two sons: Angelo is in Kindergarten, and Lorenzo will be a Shark in 2017.  His cousins were graduates of North Park when it was still located in the church basement.  Matthew has two Master's Degrees in Education, is a National Board Certified Teacher, and has worked in Education for 12 years.  He has been a Classroom Assistant, Coach, Teacher, Coordinator, Vice Principal, and is actively pursuing Principal positions.  His education background and experience in differentiated instruction, teacher development, budgets, operations, community-building, and fund-raising will help NPES as we work to realize Vision 2025.



Diana is an Assistant Professor of Education at North Park University. With a nearly 30-year career in elementary public education, Professor Majerczyk started at NPU eager to take advantage of the opportunity to expand her practical experiences working with prospective school leaders as students. She brings significant experience working in two Illinois districts, as both a classroom teacher and an administrator.  She taught grades 1-3 for seven years in Manheim School District 83 and spent 22 years in Lombard Elementary District 44 as a classroom teacher, gifted teacher, principal, and district-level administrator for professional development, teaching and learning, and grant writing. She also serves as an Advisory Committee member for NPES.



Maurine is a stay at home mom with three daughters at NPES. She spent 12 years at the Northern Trust Company working with large public pension funds. She focused on relationship management, portfolio analysis, and performance reporting. She currently volunteers with the Junior League of Chicago and Fourth Presbyterian Church.   Maurine will serve as secretary of the board this year. 





Vince Menees is new to the school board as of summer of 2011. He has over 15 years experience in IT Consulting and an additional 7 years experience as a General Contractor focusing on residential development.  Vince is currently focused on NPES long-term technology goals and the development of the new school playlot and serves as one of the Chairs for the Wired for Fun initiative.  Vince’s son in currently in the 8th grade and his daughter is in 2nd grade.



Jonathan is a partner and founding member of Element Financial Partners, a financial planning firm.  He works with both businesses and individuals on succession and estate planning issues.  In addition, he uses his experience trading derivatives to help him and his clients best manage the risks they face in trying to accomplish both their wealth accumulation and distribution goals. Jonathan graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Chicago, and earned a graduate degree from Oxford University’s St. Catherine’s College.  Jonathan and his wife Laura have two children at NPES.  Sam is in 4th grade, and Violet is in 2nd grade.  



neepa patel

Neepa is the Chief Growth Officer at IPG, a health care services company.  Over the past 20 years, Neepa has held a variety of leadership roles, including corporate strategy, business development and operations with growth stage and established health care organizations.  Neepa graduated from Duke University and earned a graduate degree from University of Michigan.  Neepa and her husband, Manish, have two children at NPES - Mili, 1st grade and Ojas, Kindergarten. 


Zach and his wife Heather are proud NPES parents of Jacob (5th) and Aaron (4th).  Zach has professional experience in real estate and education.  He has helped plan, transact, and build schools. In working with charter schools, he has worked for and with non-profit boards running schools. Zach has participated in NPES events and activities:  biddy basketball, men's wine and steak auction party, and the Welles Park Brewers, an outpost of NPES kids enjoying learning baseball together.




Jeff Yosowitz is our current Board President.  Jeff has practiced law for 26 years and presently involves himself in various exciting endeavors.  At NPES, Jeff continues to help us improve our middle school programs, serves as a parent coach for our award-winning Science Olympiad team and also organizes other successful events such as the popular annual Dad’s Club camping trip.  Jeff’s son is a graduate of NPES and is now at Northside College Prep and his daughter is in 6th grade at NPES.
