Days-Off Program Childcare and Sleep Under Saturdays

Days-Off Program Childcare

The Days-Off Program, led by our Auxiliary Programs Manager, provides paid childcare for NPES students in preschool through fifth grade from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on select days when school is not in session. The program typically runs during parent-teacher conferences, the days before Thanksgiving, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, February Break, and select spring professional development days.

Students enjoy a mix of indoor and outdoor play, arts and crafts, reading time, and homework periods, as needed. Early Childhood participants also enjoy a midday rest. Most Days-Off programming is on campus, with occasional visits to Welles Park or Sulzer Library. The program is led by NPES Aftercare Associates and substitute teachers. Students bring their own snacks and lunch, and families register in advance.

The current cost is $110 per day.

Sleep Under Saturdays

NPES is thrilled to offer Sleep Under Saturdays, our exciting evening childcare program for students in Preschool through 5th Grade. Held on select Saturdays throughout the school year, this program gives students a chance to enjoy a fun, play-filled night with friends - right here at school - while parents and caregivers enjoy a well-deserved break.

Led by our trusted NPES staff and managed by Auxiliary Programs Manager Jami Allen, each evening is packed with engaging activities like indoor and outdoor play, arts & crafts, games, and story time. Plus, we provide snacks, cozy spaces for rest, and lots of opportunities for laughter and connection.

Whether it’s a pajama party-style evening, a daytime kids’ gala, or a special night aligned with a parent social event - Sleep Under Saturdays are the perfect blend of joy, supervision, and community.

Registration opens in early September via the Parent Portal (for all program dates) and closes about 10 days before each event. A minimum of 12 students is necessary for each Sleep Under.
Participants will engage in outdoor and indoor movement and play, organized games, arts and crafts, reading, and other activities on campus. While snacks and treats will be provided (all peanut and tree-nut-free, with a gluten-free option), students should bring a water bottle and should have eaten their meal before arrival.

The cost is $55 per evening for one student and $20 for a sibling.
