Daily Activities

Within our play-based program, students engage in a myriad of learning experiences that deepen academic and social-emotional learning:

  • Outdoor/nature play & exploration
  • Daily "Morning Meeting" focused on connection and the practice of classroom routines and procedures
  • Curated explorations and access to provocative materials that elicit learning in math, science, literacy, and art
  • Communal meal times (snack and lunch)
  • Gross motor play, both indoor and outdoor
  • Rest time
  • Co-curricular studies including music, art, drama, Spanish, and library*

*Being part of an elementary school also enables our Early Childhood students to participate in robust co-curricular programming taught by highly-qualified, dynamic teachers with deep expertise in their respective fields. These faculty members understand the importance of building strong co-curricular foundations in early childhood and because they teach older students, they know how to scaffold learning across grade levels.
